We’ve promised you travel and romance, but is it really possible to find love AND travel for free? If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. But if you don’t think MissTravel is the exception to that rule, just ask Sibel how her first date on MissTravel may end up being her last. ABC 20/20 was there to capture every moment…

Sibel, a 27 year old woman from New York, signed up for MissTravel, not expecting anything to really happen. Much to her surprise, she got her very first trip offer on her first day of signing up. Steven, a 31 year old financial planner from San Diego, was planning a trip to Cabo San Lucas for the following weekend, and offered to take Sibel along with him. At first, Sibel was hesitant, though Steven was very attractive and seemed to be the kind of guy she would normally date. But a free trip to Cabo with a man she had never met seemed a bit daunting.
Eventually, Steven won her over and after a few days of SKYPE-ing and long talks on the phone, they agreed to meet up in Cabo the following weekend. From opposite coasts, Sibel and Steven arrived separately in Cabo San Lucas, meeting for the first time at Villa Marcella, a beachside mansion, Steven had rented out for the weekend at $2500 a night.
Steven & Sibel slipped into an easy friendship when they first met, that quickly blossomed into romance as they explored the beach hand in hand.
Steven planned a romantic first evening for Sibel, that started with champagne and a dip in the jacuzzi, and ending with a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach. A private table for two just feet away from the ocean.
After dinner, Sibel and Steven briefly hit up the Cabo San Lucas bar scene, before calling it a night on separate floors of their villa. Their first night in Cabo was a romantic success, but it was nothing compared to the adventure-filled day Steven had planned for Sibel next. Steven, an avid sailor, chartered a private yacht to Playa Del Amor. After lunch and drinks on deck, the two jumped in the water and snorkeled there way to Lover’s Beach.
After a fun filled, but tiring day in the sun, the happy couple were looking forward to a low key afternoon, followed by a casual night out. To see what happens next… tune into ABC 20/20 tonight, July 13th at 10/9 C. Or come back on Monday for a recap of the rest of Steven & Sibel’s romantic Cabo weekend!

Why such a good looking guy would need to pay for a companion?. Unless this is a paid sort of model guy to attract the real future clients(sugar daddy’s and hot girls for the ride) . I am not buying it so far. Not believable
@lala that’s not the point. No one is paid as companion on MissTravel, its for singles who love to travel! Even attractive people don’t like to travel alone.
I am so happy for you! Its amazing that technology is bringing many people from far away places together and if happiness or two fall in love I say “Wonderful”. We all search for the same things a great person to share our life with. I love your story and wish you all the happiness.
Beautiful and encouraging! I love it and they are a beautiful couple~!!
to lala: Just believe, it may happen.
I’m learning to trust happiness and good luck in life. I was afraid the prince in Snow White may be same kind of person as the queen; I didn’t believe Cinderella would have soft hands that the prince could appreciate; my comment to Movie Titanic was that nobles (or rich people) cannot live without silk clothes. But, people tell me luck appears randomly so Think Positive!
So according to this story it’s OK for safety to go out the window from Day One?!
Girls, NEVER travel anywhere with a stranger. If he has that much money, he can afford to come to your hometown (or a location that YOU are familiar with) and meet you in person first.
Get your messaging straight, MissTravel.com, hypocrisy in your blogging begets mistrust – you don’t want falling consumer confidence, do you??
@LadyLemur
Every MissTravel story is different, and it is really up to YOU to do what you feel is right. In this case, Sibel did her homework before she left for Cabo. She Googled him, conducted her own background check and got to know him via Skype & over the phone. She made all the precautions she felt were necessary for this particular situation.
MissTravel would never recommend anyone to travel with a complete stranger, but in this case, they already felt like the knew each other before they met. We are consistent in our message to our users: safety comes first, always do your research, and use your common sense. I believe Sibel covered all of her bases, and it worked out in her favor.
@Lala this story is true to some extent. I personally know Steve, he’s a real single guy but he is a bit douchie and not so rich that is why he was still single. Their relationship is real but there’s more to the story then what this website has reported.
I must say that BRANDON WADE is a genius!
I was tired hearing excuses from men claiming that I am too far away but also stated on thier profile that they love to travel blah blah blah yada yada yada!!
Then, I found out about MissTravel and this has to be a blessing. Come on think about it.
You get to travel for free ladies! This isn’t sex for money at all. You can definitely find true love on here just like the couple we all saw on ABC NEWS.
@Tina, too funny! I know Steve too and he is a MAJOR douchebag! That is for sure why he’s always single. Also, this story (in part B) says that he is now happy in a relationship and no longer on the site – he is still on the site. Did MissTravel pay for this vacation for them? I’d love to know the real story! Anyway, even if Steve is awful and it makes me cautious about others on here, I still hope and believe there are some good ones on this site, just have to be real careful! I’ve been offered a vacation by a very attractive guy on here after just one week so.. maybe I’ll be the next success story published
@TMissi @Tina I ALSO know Steve, and I completely disagree with you. I happen to know he was with Sibel just a few days ago in San Diego when 20/20 aired. Whether or not he is active on here still, I don’t know, but I wouldn’t describe him as douchey at all. You two sound a bit like discarded lovers..
@TMissi I hope you do find success on this site and if you do have a fantastic first trip you want to share with us, I would love to publish it.
Feel free to email me at jennifer@misstravel.com
P.S. I met Steve while casting for this particular segment, and I didn’t think he was that bad. Seemed like a nice guy to me

i love every thing hear
I just like the valuable information you supply in your articles. I will bookmark your blog and take a look at again right here regularly. I am moderately certain I will learn a lot of new stuff right here! Good luck for the next!
I am lucky that I observed this weblog , precisely the right information that I was looking for! .
You actually make it appear really easy with your presentation however I to find this matter to be actually one thing that I believe I might by no means understand. It sort of feels too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward in your next post, I’ll attempt to get the cling of it!
Believe it…. The guy I traveled with was handsome and he took me to the superbowl this year. Things didn’t work out but it was tons of fun!
Very good tips steve! Its good to know that there are captains will to help others learn about essentials, like docking properly. Just putting it out there, if you are ever in need of a boat shipping company, look up Yacht Exports. They are really good at what they do. Thanks again Steve.
The one thing I do not like about this story is the emphasis on all the money Steve spent on this brief trip. Great if you have the money and can do that but lets be honest that only 2% of US residents make more than $250,000 a year. I am retired and live on a modest income but I have been traveling in Europe for three months and have enjoyed some of that time with members from this site. Instead of a $2500 night luxury villa why not an apartment in an antiquated building near the Spanish steps in Rome for a romantic getaway. Right in the middle of all that is happening in Rome not secluded in a luxury hotel. Being able to walk right onto the cobblestone street surrounded by outdoor cafes, fruit and flower market, and gelati stores. I pay for all travel expenses for my companion but I do not promise luxurious travel and accommodations. A little ingenuity and imagination and you can create a wonderful trip without breaking the bank.
The two of them make such a beautiful couple !
Love love the story. Will definitely give MissTravel a try.
